Server Updates and Glitches
Why the site slowed to a crawl during school hours after distance learning launched, and what was being done about it.

Hey all
So some of you may have noticed the site has dragged to a crawl the last few days during peak times (9-2). Kind of inconvient, yeah?
As you may have guessed it's pretty much 100% because of the newly addeddistance learning section. I talked to my server folks before releasing it and they assured me the server could handle the load with no problem. And then there were problems.
So I spent all day Tuesday talking to them about solutions and they fixed it. And the next day there were more problems.
So I spent all day Wednesday talking to them and they fixed it. And then the next day there were more problems.
So I talked to them again. And they fixed it.
Only this time their 'fix' was to lock the content of the site without my knowledge.
So all the one-atta-time problems, distance learning answers, etc basically got locked exactly where they were. Which resulted in answers getting directed to wrong places or even nowhere.
Logins failing and a ton of other issues. I caught it pretty quick (thanks to you folks letting me know) but it's still an unfortunate situation.
So where we stand now is I'm in the process of upgrading to a new server. Hopefully it will be finished over the weekend and all the problems will stop.
But I just wanted to keep you appraised of what is going on and to let you know I am working on it.
